Empiricus Research is a Brazilian firm that sells informational newsletters. It’s a partnership between The Agora Group and Felipe Miranda, Rodolfo Amstalden, and Caio Mesquita. The newsletters have 180,000 subscribers. It owns half of O Antagonista. This is a website that is also owned by Mario Sabino and Diogo Mainardi.
O Antagonista and Empiricus Research sometimes take a “politically incorrect” approach as their strategy to attract new subscribers. In 2014, Empiricus released, “O Fim do Brasil.” In English, this is “Then End of Brazil.” This video predicted that the economy was headed to disaster due to the policies of the Dilma Roussef government. This video was similar to America’s Stansberry Research’s video “End of America.” This company is also owned by The Agora Group.
Empiricus has advertisements on Facebook and Google. They often use political issues to attract subscribers. Some of these are, “Protect Yourself if Dilma Wins” and “What if Aecio Neves Wins? Which Stocks Should Go Up if Aecio Wins the Elections?” The ads were initially suspended as elections were ongoing, but the Electoral Supreme Court withdrew the suspension at the suggestion of Supreme Court Judge Gilmar Mendes.
On another occasion, the team at Empiricus had a banner that featured Graca Foster. He is the former president of Petrobras. The banner said, “Trump or Shame? Is it Time to Buy?” When Dilma Roussef was getting impeached, they had an ad that stated, “Where to Invest if Dilma Leaves.”
Empiricus Research offers free bulletins, “Market in Five Minutes.” They also offer paid bulletins on a subscription basis. They have different plans for their paid subscriptions. Felipe Miranda said they looked at O Antagonista subscribers as potential subscribers for their newsletters.
The Agora Group was established in 1978 and is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. It has multiple publications covering areas like finance, travel, and health. Refer to This Article for related information.
