Wisconsin, Michigan State, North Carolina or Florida Defeat Wisconsin, Michigan State, North Carolina or Florida to Win National Basketball Championship!

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan State, or Florida were crowned NCAA Men's Basketball Champs on April 3 when they defeated either Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, or Florida in the NCAA Championship final at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

"I couldn't be more proud of any group of kids then I am of these guys," exclaimed the victorious coach Dick Bennet, Tom Izzo, Bill Guthridge or Billy Donovan

Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan State, or Florida got the early lead thanks to some sharp shooting or some good defense or both. At the midway point of the first period Bennet, Izzo, Guthridge or Donovan called time-out, which seemed to help the Badgers, Spartans, Tar Heels, or Gators regain their composure or shooting touch and by the half the lead had shrunk or possibly grown. The table was set for an exciting second half as the Badgers, Spartans, Tar Heels, or Gators went to the locker room with either a large, slim, or no lead.

The momentum did something at the start of the second half allowing the Badgers, Spartans, Tar Heels, or Gators to gain or maintain the lead. But the Badgers, Spartans, Tar Heels, or Gators managed to pull close to or away from the Badgers, Spartans, Tar Heels, or Gators as the game neared it's finale. However, when it was all said and done the heroic run of the Badgers, Spartans, Tar Heels, or Gators could not stop the team from Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, or Florida from being crowned Champions for 2000.

A dejected, yet proud, Coach Bennet, Izzo, Guthridge or Donovan praised his team's efforts throughout the whole tournament, "I just told them to hold their heads up because they gave their best tonight and throughout the tournament. And then I told them that the entire state of Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, or Florida was still cheering for them despite the loss."
