All's Quiet On The NBA Playoff Front

HOLLYWOOD, CA - On the eve of the NBA playoffs, NBA officials remain silent on how the playoff's will end. In one of the most secretive playoffs ever, the NBA has maintained a vigilant wall of silence regarding what is expected to be a dramatic finale.

The NBA did concede that the playoffs will result in the crowning of champion, but declined to elaborate on who that would be, exactly, or how it would come to pass.

"We feel that the thrill of the playoffs is heightened when you don't know the outcome unitl the shocking surprise at the end," explained the NBA in an official memo

Speculation has run rampant that the final sequence will feature the Los Angles Lakers and Indiana Pacers in a climatic six game series. However, the NBA although not officially denying or confirming any rumors said that "the measures we have taken leave us confident that any reports represent pure speculation and are not from any source inside the NBA."

The NBA Final Series has proven a solid and popular franchise although the last incarnation was one of the weaker versions in years. That lackluster production however came on the heels of several years of compelling entertainment when the Finals were able to feature favorite Michael Jordan.

"This year's show represents a crucial moment for the NBA and their NBA Finals series," noted NBA analyst Harvey Diller. "Was last year a one-time set-back, or is there considerable trouble for the franchise without Jordan as the leading man?"

The NBA is hoping the former is the case and that is why they are even more serious then ever about maintaining secrecy for this year's Finals. "Without being too dramatic we feel this year's Finals will offer the public the kind of drama, action and suspense that they deserve and require. It should be the feel-good hit of the summer."
