Sheldon Lavin From Local to World Leader

Sheldon Lavin is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the Food and Meat Packing Industry. Sheldon Lavin currently serves as the CEO of OSI Group, a privately owned Food and Meat packing company. Forbes Magazine named OSI Group as #58 on their list of Largest Privately Owned Companies in the U.S. Their net worth rounds up to $6.1 billion dollars with 20,000 employees. OSI Group offers food processing to some of the biggest food retails and chains in the world. Lavin has been a finance consultant since the 1970s when OSI Group was still Otto & Sons company, a local meat packing company from Illinois that began their business with being one of the main meat suppliers for McDonald’s. Sheldon Lavin joined Otto & Sons with a vision to convert them into a larger more diverse Food packing company. Since then, Otto & Sons now OSI Group Corp. has established branches in 17 countries with over 65 locations and has created their international brand OSI International Foods Ltd. with Sheldon Lavin serving as president of the international conglomerate. In 2006 with Lavin now as the CEO OSI Group was able to attain Amick Farms, a largely known as a poultry packing company from the East Coast in an effort to expand their business. In 2015 OSI Food Solutions Poland, a branch inside OSI Group received first prize at the National Labor Inspectorate Awards, one of the many food and safety acknowledgements OSI Group continues to retain.
