Ashley Lightspeed knew at an early stage what she wanted to do and the career path she wanted to follow. Raised by an architect father, she used to sit with him and draft sketches and building ideas; what we call prototype. After years in Duke doing her coursework and studying in Copenhagen, she automatically knew and was interested in the prototyping business as opposed to the actual buildings.
She is an investor, an entrepreneur, and a partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners; Ashley Lightspeed did her studies Duke University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She did a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and majored in Visual and Media Studies, and she holds a Certificate in Markets and Management.
While in campus, Ashley was an active student, she was the Chief Student Marshal for the 2012 Class, a Phi Beta Kappa member, she was on the Dean’s List with Distinctions, and received an honor from the Benenson Award for the Danish Institute Study Abroad [CW1] program. In addition to that, Ashley Lightspeed was at the Career Discovery Program at Harvard Graduate School of Design, and she was a participant in Duke Engage Dublin. She earned her Master’s in MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2018. They voted her the Vice President of the Arts, Media, and Entertainment Club and she a member of the Women in Management Club.
Ashley started her career as an intern, then Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company and then moved to be a Category Manager at Thumbtack. Ashley joined Lightspeed Ventures Partners in 2018; it is an American venture capital organization, deals with investments in their early stages in enterprise technology. She is a member of the consumer investing team; she works with early-stage companies to help in developing and strategic growth execution.
